Extreme variety, extreme beauty and extreme entertainment take center stage in Japan’s most acclaimed musical
production “Matsuri”, now entertaining audiences six days a week in the Imperial Palace’s Imperial Theater.
“Audiences leave the theater either shaking their heads in disbelief at the amazing skills and stamina these
performers have, or grinning from ear-to-ear because of their contagious energy”, says Megan Belk of EBI
Enterprises, the agency that brought the show to the Imperial Palace and arranged their one year contract with
venue.
Matsuri (Japanese for ‘Festival’), is an action-packed, non-verbal production that showcases extreme athleticism
through a series of unique variety acts. The 75-minute high-energy show will feature a cast of 18 Japanese
athletes, performing stunts ranging from the “Human Jump Rope” and “Judo Tango” to the “Lion Dance” and
“Foot Drums.” Under the direction of Executive Producer and Director Ushio Higuchi, each act incorporates music,
strength, acrobatics, beauty and Japanese culture.
“We are hoping to really make a name for ourselves not only in Japan and Las Vegas, but worldwide,” said Ushio.
“We feel this is a perfect platform to introduce our show to a global audience and we’re thrilled to be partnering
with the Imperial Palace.”
