Experience a Birding & Wildlife Paradise at the Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve
Located at the Henderson Water Reclamation Facility is one of Nevada’s prime birding destinations: The Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve! This 140-acre hidden gem serves as a migratory waterfowl refuge and permanent home to desert resident birds.
The preserve features nine ponds and paved and dirt trails. Visitors can stroll along dirt paths and enjoy birdwatching. A 3/4-mile paved trail is wheelchair accessible.

- Black-necked stilt
- Cinnamon teal
- Gambel’s quail
- Great blue heron
- Greater Roadrunner
- Killdeer
- Northern shoveler
- Red-winged blackbird

- Yellow-headed Blackbird
Plan Your Expedition:
The preserve is open every day of the year, with seasonal hours. You should definitely wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. Bring water, a hat, and sunscreen. Sorry, no pets are allowed.
Admission Price: Free for all! Donations are welcome.
Hours of Operation: Open year-round – last entry 30 minutes before closing.

Directions: The Preserve is located in the Water Reclamation Facility near the intersection of Galleria Drive and Boulder Highway. To get there, take I-515 south from Las Vegas, exit at Galleria Drive, turn right, drive two miles east, then turn left onto Moser Drive and follow the signs.
