Get out and away from the hustle and bustle of Las Vegas for a day trip on the waters of the Colorado River aboard a motor-powered river raft through the awe-inspiring Black Canyon natural gorge of the Colorado River immediately below Hoover Dam. After a relaxing and picturesque motorcoach ride to Boulder City and Lake Mead, your tour group will take an especially permitted offroad vehicle down to the river bank and the launch site for your raft, many feet below the top of the Hoover Dam. Few people see this part of the river due to its inaccessibility and rugged landscape.
As you float along this calm stretch of river, admire the cliffs and views of Hoover Dam while an experienced guide will talk to the group about the area. Relax and relish the beautiful scenery as the fun and professional guides share their knowledge of this magnificent geological area on an enjoyable raft journey on the slow-moving waters of the Colorado River. During your 12-mile river adventure, your raft will pass through canyon walls that, in some places, rise 2,000 feet above the river’s edge. You’ll enjoy learning about the history of the impressive river and have plenty of opportunities to observe and take pictures of the wildlife that makes it home. Officially referred to as the Black Canyon National Water Trail, you will have the chance to spot Bighorn Sheep, Eagles, Osprey, and Great Blue Herons in their natural environment. At a point, the tour will stop to give those who wish an opportunity to enjoy a dip into the crystal-clear waters. Finally, your trip comes to an end on the Arizona side of the Colorado River at Willow Beach – the uppermost boundary of Lake Mohave – where you will have the opportunity to shop for exciting souvenirs before boarding an air-conditioned tour bus for the return trip over the Mike O’Callaghan Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge and back to your starting point in Las Vegas.
