Local Shops, Art, and Creative Spaces

Independent makers and small businesses occupy storefronts throughout Fergusons Downtown and nearby Gather House. The mix can include apparel, jewelry, vintage goods, books, plants, art, specialty products, creative studios, and other locally focused retail.

Art and design are integrated throughout the property, while the courtyard and former motel spaces provide places to browse, meet, work, and explore. The business lineup changes over time, so visitors looking for a particular shop or studio should check the current directory before visiting.

Coffee, Food, and Drinks

Food and beverage options are part of the Fergusons Downtown experience and include coffee, casual food, cocktails, beer, and other changing offerings. Individual businesses maintain their own menus, hours, seating, and age requirements.

Food and drink businesses operate independently, and the available dining mix can change over time.

Markets, Workshops, Live Music, and Community Events

Fergusons Downtown hosts changing markets, workshops, live music, creative classes, community gatherings, and other public programs throughout the property. Activities can take place in the courtyard, shops, food and beverage spaces, and other areas of the campus.

Schedules, admission, age requirements, reservations, vendors, performers, and event locations vary by program. Visitors planning around a particular event should use the current Fergusons Downtown calendar.

Historic Motel and Adaptive Reuse

The property began as the Franklin Motel in the mid-1940s and later became Fergusons Motel. The surviving mid-century motel buildings were eventually adapted into the present-day Fergusons Downtown complex, preserving the property’s recognizable low-rise courtyard form while introducing new community, retail, dining, art, and event uses.

The historic motel architecture remains an important part of the experience, but Fergusons Downtown should be understood today as a creative mixed-use destination rather than an operating hotel.
